David Palmer CPA Concedes this Election to the Winner Sarah Davis
First and foremost, I want to give praise to God and thank Him for leading me to this experience. I want to thank my wife Becky. I want to thank my family and friends and campaign team. When we started this journey, I couldn't have known what a great experience this campaign was going to be. I set out to let voters know we offered a more conservative choice in this race for state representative. I was blessed to meet so many and hear their stories. I think we sent the message to Ms. Davis that she should consider more conservative options in Austin. I wish her well in the Fall election. I am deeply grateful to all the campaign volunteers and supporters who gave their time, energy and prayers to spread our messages of faith, family, conservative values and constitutional freedoms. Their efforts touched my heart and our community. God blesses us all richly and is with us always..
David is a leader and teacher in his church, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, where he and his wife, Rebecca Palmer, have attended since they met there and were married nearly 30 years ago.
As a resident of the City of Southside place since 1986, David has served his community in a civic leadership and volunteer capacity on the Southside Place Park Board, the Southside Place Men’s Civic Club, and was elected to three two year terms as a City Councilman. During his term on City Council, our city was able to pay off its bonds to become debt-free and the groundwork was laid for the later beautification of Bellaire Boulevard in the City of Southside Place.
David and Rebecca also started and perform volunteer services and free educational and vocational resources support through a small non-profit company, The GED Coach, which serves the Houston homeless population through established local area shelters such as the Covenant House and the Star of Hope Mission.
David’s work experience includes 11 years in the corporate finance department of oilfield services industry giant Baker Hughes, working in treasury, financial reporting, accounting and other finance positions. A Texas Certified Public Accountant for over 30 years, he has also held senior management positions in small privately-held technology driven companies and for the past 15 years has run a small public accounting practice specializing in business valuation appraisals and related consulting.
David’s educational background began with an undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Tennessee in Biochemistry/Cellular Biology followed by a Masters in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
I will faithfully represent you in Austin on such matters as
Finding and eliminating waste and fraud in our Texas government spending
Protecting our rights under the US Constitution and the Texas Constitution
Protecting rights of unborn children and helpless invalids
Securing our borders to keep our communities safe
Limiting the growth in Texas government spending so less tax dollars are needed
Property tax reform to make it fairer and thoughtfully administered
Improving high school graduation rates and testing of schoolchildren
Meet the Candidate Profile
I will bring much needed business and financial perspective to state government
Working as a practicing Certified Public Accountant and business appraiser and experience at executive levels in both large and small companies in Houston over the last 30 years has equipped me with a broad understanding of the problems they face.
I will be working to identify waste and fraud in government.
I believe every child in Texas has a right to the opportunity to develop their God-given abilities, and that they also have the right to be born so they can do so.
